I have been having the same problem on my computer for the last week, "default boot device missing or boot failed" on startup. was able to update my bios to v2.12 using the method described above but it didn't solve the problem.. Tried it, and it doesn't work. however something in bios called "d2d recovery" is enabled and is using the alt+f10 shortcut, for disc to disc recovery..
@zaforiqbal unfortunately there's hardly anyone on this forum that has used an apollo lake device that comes pre-installed with endless os such as yours.. Everytime i open my laptop blue screen will appear and indicating default boot device missing or boot failed. i watched several videos how to fix it but everytime i restart and click f2 and change it to legacy in boot, it shows only enable and doesn't have legacy.. Fix default boot device missing or boot failed during booting pc or laptops , just follow my simple steps as shown in the video..
