Optiplex 790/990, pci serial port driver fix, non-supported windows 8.1/10 jump to solution after 3 days of digging, i found the fix for the optiplex 790 and 990 pci serial port driver issue which shows as a yellow triangle under device manager.. The "pci serial port driver is not actually a serial port" its the intel amt heci & amt sol/lms hardware. the current driver for this works with windows 7, vista, xp, 32 and 64 bit.. Optiplex 790 pci serial port driver. i am not a dell employee. dell forum member since 2002. dell inspiron 15 - 5577 laptop. home built desktop pc with asus rog z170, i7 6700k cpu. windows 10 64 bit pro and windows 10 insider program beta versions. ssd drives. cakewalk by bandlab and studio one 3 recordng studio software.. Pci serial port driver not installed (windows 7 64-bit) ever since i installed windows 7 (64-bit), the device manager shows under other devices / pci serial port / properties / "the drivers for this device are not installed.. The pci serial driver isnt a com port. its the intel amt heci sol driver. the solution is to install the dell driver and then let windows update decide if the driver needs whql update. windows 7 32-bit windows 8 64-bit: intel serial over lan/local management service driver.
